Program Rules

These policies summarize the expectations found in the official Student Guide. Expanded language will be imported as the full guide is parsed into structured data.

  • Assembly Attendance Required

    It is prohibited for any person to be absent from any assembly without the explicit permission of a counselor or other staff member.

  • Group Travel Requirements

    It is prohibited for a person not to be with his group when the group is traveling to a designated place.

  • Impeding Officials Prohibited

    It is prohibited for any person to impede the duties or functions of any Boys State counselor or other staff member, or any elected or appointed official.

  • Profanity Prohibited

    Profanity is prohibited.

  • Property Removal Prohibited

    Removal of toilet paper, paper towel rolls, or any other similar items from public bathrooms and other public areas is prohibited.

  • Disturbance After Curfew

    Disturbance after curfew is strictly prohibited. Activities in buildings that disturb the rights of persons in the buildings are prohibited.

  • Campaign Sign Regulations

    Signs shall not be affixed to any surface in a manner that causes damage to the surface. (Blue painters tape is acceptable.) Campaign signs must be removed within four hours of the closing of the polls.

  • Campaign Material Requirements

    No person may hang a campaign sign or distribute campaign material in any public place unless he has filed a nominating petition for the office sought.

  • Name Tag Requirement

    The official Boys State name tag shall be worn at all times except when participating in athletic events, changing clothes, bathing, or sleeping.

  • Court Jurisdiction

    The Boys State court of jurisdiction shall levy all punishment and fines for violations of these laws.
